Dear Sir,
We normally use EPDM rıbber compound including KELTAN 6950C elastomer for fire extinguishing hoses between fittings. The final product shape is a ring shape. And, the compression set value and glass transition temperature shall be low! The standart rubber compound including KELTAN 6950C is approved by our customer. We plan to use KEP 370F instead of KELTAN 6950C. For this purpose, we have prepared new rubber compound with KEP 370F. And, send to our customer to make test. But, we have got the bad test results for low temperature properties. So, we try to understand the root cause for the bad test result. We have some questions as follows: 1. What is the glass transition temperature (Tg) of KEP 370F? 2. KEP 370F is a good selection for the above condition!? 3. Which elastomer selection would be the best? Thank you for the interesting KUMHO EPDM. Please refer to below answer. 1. Tg of KEP370F is "-47" degrees Celsius. (Tg of competiter is "-43" degrees Celsius.) 2. Yes, KEP370F is good choice in our EPDM portfolio. 3.
